They made some updates to the cab on this one such as adding in brown wall paneling and changing the floor. The COP is unfortunately in worse condition and all the floor buttons are blank except for 3 which is a door open.

Unfortunately this elevator is currently being modernized into a Schindler stainless steel tin can with MAD Atoll. They’re keeping the glass but as far as I can tell all the gold is going.

This bus makes funny and silly clown noises from the Voith transmission when decelerating. In other words, it starts clowning around when decelerating. 🤡🤡🤡

Hey, I just stepped foot into a Von Maur for the first time on Mother’s Day weekend. Perimeter in Atlanta to be exact! And in my home state of Florida, the company wants to start in Naples. After visiting, I can see why I love Von Maur: for their high end look and having a pianist!

These types of elevators have been illegal to operate in California since 1970-1977, and thus are probably extinct in California (at least in working condition). As for it being the 23rd elevator installed in the state of Iowa, that's most likely not the case. It might be the 23rd elevator inspected by the state of Iowa, but it's possible the state started inspecting elevators long after this elevator was installed. Many states didn't inspect elevators until after World War II, if not much later.

It’s a Montgomery modded by Kone according to a third party elevator company maintainer for vta.

Unfortunately there is still a faint hint of the creaking on this elevator, but it’s no where near as bad as in this video. The floor felt a bit unstable when it occurred though, not the best feeling.

6 years later this thing is literally exactly the same.

Sounds just like Ride On's 2005 New Flyer C40LFs that retired in 2020 due to rear door issues

These are amazing. And also 2 Otis Lexans across from 2 Thyssen/Northerns with big analog indicators isn’t something you see everyday. In terms of fixtures, these are definitely cooler though. Awesome elevators and good video of these.

Unfortunately, I think these elevators have since been modernized from research. In this video they are definitely on original Otis relay logic.

This elevator is my favorite love love everything about it from chimes, glass, motor and views of the escalators. It’s rare at nowadays to see this great stuff

I actually got to experience it for the first time on December 27th, 2023 although the day before that as we were exiting Powell Street, I was surprised to see that the escalator to the Union Square platform was a VERY long way down.
